The President of Al-Hussein Bin Talal University meets with the Mayor of the Spanish city of Malaga


 The President of Al-Hussein Bin Talal University, Prof. Atef Al-Kharabsheh, met with Mr. Francisco de la Torre, the Mayor of the city of Malaga, located in southern Spain, as part of a series of tours and visits that the President of Al-Hussein Bin Talal University made to the University of Malaga, colleges and institutes in the city.

The visit comes to discuss ways to enhance cooperation in areas of common interest, especially in the academic, cultural and tourism sectors.

At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Atef Al-Kharabsheh presented the role of Al-Hussein Bin Talal University, which is considered the first university of higher education established during the reign of His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein, whose philosophy is based on excellence by offering specializations and programs that are appropriate to the environment surrounding the university, such as mining and minerals in Ma’an, tourism in Petra, various computing disciplines, and other disciplines that support the vision and philosophy of the Jordanian state, and promote development strategies in the country.

Al-Kharabsheh reviewed the university's distinguished location within the tourist Golden Triangle in Jordan, as it constitutes a distinguished tourist and archaeological package that offers a unique tourism product on the global level. Jordan, and it constitutes a great concern among the interests of His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein and the Jordanian governments.

For his part, Mr. Francisco praised the efforts of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in supporting the tourism sector and developing the tourism product in Petra. The Mayor of Malacca also reviewed the municipal services and future projects carried out by the Municipality of Malacca.

At the end of the meeting, the President of Al-Hussein Bin Talal University awarded the university's shield to the Mayor of Malaga, in appreciation of Al-Hussein Bin Talal University for the academic and cultural cooperation relations with the Spanish city of Malaga.

The meeting was attended by the Director of the Department of International Relations at Al-Hussein Bin Talal University, Dr. Ahmed Salah, and a number of Malaga municipality officials.
