‘’Mn, Co and Ni Schiff Base Complexes Containing Ferrocene for Sensor Application; -Synthesis, Characterization and Electrochemistry-‘’
Within the presented work, the synthesis of new organic ligands (quinoline-based Schiff bases) capable for hosting charged metal species such as Mn, Co and Ni and bearing a ferrocene functionality as a periphery for the coordination moiety will be performed. Fully characterization using elemental analysis, spectroscopic methods (FT-IR; 1H, 13C{1H} NMR) and high-resolution ESI-TOF mass-spectrometry will be used. If appropriate, the molecular solid state structure of selected species will be determined by single crystal structure analysis. The electrochemical behavior of the prepared compounds will be determined by square-wave (SWV), cyclic (CV) and linear sweep voltammetry (LSV). To show, if electronic communication occurs in the appropriate mixed-valent species in situ UV-Vis/NIR spectroscopy will be applied.
