The Department of Medical Analysis was established as one of the departments of Princess Aisha Bint Al Hussein College of Nursing and Health Sciences at Al-Hussein Bin Talal University in 2013 to contribute to the provision of competencies and national human expertise that are scientifically and practically qualified in accordance with local and international quality standards and metrics. Since its establishment, the Department of Medical Analysis has been seeking leadership and excellence in university academic education and scientific research at the national, regional, and global levels.

The medical analysis specialization is one of the scientific and technical medical specialties that relate to the diagnostic aspect of human diseases and early detection of them as well as following up of diagnosed cases, as most of the specialization courses focus on the student’s understanding of the mechanism and how to conduct medical laboratory tests related to many diseases such as blood disease examinations and diseases of various organs of the body.

The department offers an integrated study plan for the undergraduate program in medical analysis, which consists of 136 credit hours spread over four academic years. The curriculum offered by the department includes comprehensive theoretical teaching lectures in addition to practical laboratories that give students basic laboratory skills that qualify them to compete in the labor market. In addition, the program includes a semester in the fourth year devoted to training students in specialized laboratories of hospitals, which enables them to refine the theoretical and practical knowledge that the student acquires during the study period, which also aims to help the student to become familiar with the nature of the labor market and its needs and to acquire various knowledge and field experiences.

The department currently has 11 staff members from all academic ranks with various specialties that cover all its essential academic fields.
