Biography

Dr. Asma’a Ali Abd Elhadi Abu Qbeita was born in Ma’an, Jordan, on December 1, 1979. She currently resides in Ma’an, where she holds the position of Assistant Professor at Al-Hussein Bin Talal University. Dr. Abu Qbeita earned her Ph.D. in Curricula and Methods of Teaching English from Yarmouk University (2013–2017), following her Master’s degree in the same field from Mu’tah University (2004–2006), and a Bachelor's degree in English Language Education from Al-Hussein Bin Talal University (1997–2001). With extensive academic experience, Dr. Abu Qbeita has served in various roles at Al-Hussein Bin Talal University, including , Assistant Professor (2018–present), Instructor (2011–2018), and Lecturer (2008–2011). She also worked as an English teacher with the Ministry of Education from 2001 to 2007. Additionally, she has held administrative positions such as the Head of the Curriculum and Instruction Department and Director of the Languages and Cultural Communication Center. Dr. Abu Qbeita has actively contributed to numerous academic committees, including the Comprehensive Exam Committee for Master’s students, the Cognitive Proficiency Exam Committee for Doctoral students, and the Graduate Studies Committee. She has also chaired the Graduate Studies Committee within her department and participated in the development of study plans and accreditation programs for early childhood education. Her teaching portfolio includes courses related to English language instruction, such as Methods of Teaching English, Language Skills, Practical Courses for English and Kindergarten Teachers, and postgraduate English programs. Dr. Abu Qbeita’s professional qualifications encompass training in critical thinking, academic quality assurance, classroom management, and proficiency in research tools like EndNote and Turnitin. Her research interests focus on modern teaching methods, content analysis, and pre-service teacher training. She has published widely in reputable journals, exploring topics such as the effectiveness of the POSSE strategy in enhancing creative reading skills, the role of artificial intelligence in language learning, and metacognitive reading strategies. In addition to her academic endeavors, Dr. Abu Qbeita has served as a member of master’s thesis defense committees, contributing her expertise to the evaluation of research on teaching competencies, digital storytelling in language education, and grammar learning strategies.
