The Department of Biological Sciences, one of four departments in College of Science, was established in 2004 with a passion to be one of the premier departments among peers in Jordan. Since then, the Department of Biological Sciences persists to achieve excellence in education, scientific research and community service. It provides labor market with competent graduates to serve in the fields of education, health, industry and environment.

The Department of Biological Sciences provides an outstanding curriculum covering several knowledge areas that enable its graduates to compete in labor market. Upon successful completion of the study plan, the students are granted a Bachelor degree in Biological Sciences. Currently, the Department is in the process to launch a master program in Biological Sciences.

Currently, the Department has highly qualified faculty members holding all academic ranks. It also has several laboratory technicians, offices staff and trainees. The attached facilities of the Department include a museum and teaching and research laboratories equipped for main fields of Biology such as physiology, zoology, botany, microbiology and molecular biology.
