The department of Mathematics at Al-Hussein Bin Talal University, as a part of the college of Science departments, was launched in the academic year of 2000/2001. This department provides B.Sc. and M.Sc. programs in Mathematics where students study according to modern and comprehensive study plans; this came to develop our students’ science knowledge and basic skills of various fields. It supplies labor market with competent graduates to serve in the fields of education, industry, and financial & statistical institutions.

Mathematics has a prominent status among natural, humanistic, and social sciences that take part in all knowledge and science fields including numbers, calculation, engineering, and problems solving. Beside to its role to create an easier life, our vision is to develop the quality of teaching & learning, scientific research and community service at local and regional levels through the mission of providing local and regional communities with distinguished and qualified graduates. Our objectives are not only providing educational institutions with highly qualified graduates in mathematics, through offering training courses and designing clear research plans, but also to support effectively in the success of other departments of Science and Engineering by participating in their teaching plans.

The department includes qualified and experienced team members who work as a combined team in order to achieve purposes of the faculty effectively. In order to build our knowledgeable community, the highly qualified faculty members, who are holding several academic ranks, are teaching different courses & running different researches as well as participating effectively in local and international scientific conferences
