Physical Education for Students with Special Needs

Course Description:

This course discusses the concept of physical education (PE) for children and students with special needs, its importance, goals, instructional methods, and strategies (general and specific) in teaching physical skills and activities. The course teaches how to modify PE for these students with consideration of their abilities and weaknesses, and the use of specific instructional instruments and strategies (visual or auditory). In addition, the course discusses the importance and the use of evaluation in the field of PE. Finally, the course covers current educational issues in the field of PE for students with special needs.
