Course Description:

The course aims to teach students on the history of teaching children with special needs, which has a great importance in framing the theory and practice of the field. Further, the course teaches the concepts of special education and of children with special needs and the correlations between the two. The course goal is to provide a general view of the types of disability that include mental retardation, visual impairment, hearing impairment, physical impairment, emotional and behavioral disorders, learning disability, and communication disorders. Moreover, the course highlights the causes of each disability condition and the methods of providing educational services for each disability condition. Finally, the course discusses modern trends in dealing with children with special needs.
