The Department of Economics was established in 2005 within the College of Business Administration and Economics. The aim of the department is to offer a high quality education to undergraduate students, qualify and train them in  the area of Economic sciences. The second objective is to be internationally recognized for the quality of its teaching and research. In addition to offering BA in Economics, the department provides many of the compulsory courses for the disciplines undertaken in the college and other colleges of the university. The structure of the course is designed to provide a broad training in theory and practice, It  provides a variety of scientific activities, including: General and specialized sessions carried out by lecturers from the department and from outside the university on contemporary economic problems and issues of national and global interests.
